(A.) Potential Design Problems [PDP]

1. Sites that use Frames.
Search engines don't index framed sites very well so if they aren't necessary,
I'll recommend you to simply remove them for the better ranking of your sites.
But if they can't be avoided, there are few of the following measures you can
follow to make your site worh good ranking
Problem: Usually the sites using Frames uses one or few more frames pages to display
the entire website, the publisher can submit the Frame Pages, like HomePage to the
*HTML* *HEAD* *TITLE* Example Frame Page *-TITLE* *-HEAD*
*FRAMESET cols="15%,85%"*
*FRAME name="contents" target="main"* *FRAME name="main"*
*-FRAMESET* *-HTML*
NOTE :: *...* = <> AND - = /
Search Engine, but these Frames mostly have no info that Search Engines can use
'coz your submitted pages are just framesets not the real content holding webpages.

Solution: The real solution is to get rid of frames, its just a trick you can apply in the
necessary condition.
The best thing you can do is using NOFRAMES...optimized.content...-NOFRAMES tag that were used
previously used in framesets to show the content on those browsers not supporting FrameSets. Also
implement the links to all important pages in so that they are also crawled 'n listed.
This way the engine will also get the content on the Framesets.
You should also implement the best TITLE tag & META tag one can provide.

2. Sites that use Dynamic URLs.
Problem: Most search Engines don't list any dynamic URLs from DB -driven or
script running sites.

Solution: If your URL contains only any of the following element
? & % + = $ cgi-bin .cgi
then it is considered as dynamic URL by Search Engines, otherwise
I recommend submitting another link or make static Page, with
URL not having elements from the provided list.

3. Sites that use Flash.
Flash is not a problem, its the non-proffessional application wasting the effort.
Problem: Mostly homepages, intro pages, etc. are build up using Flash to provide a cool 'n interactive impact over the browser. But the problem arises when the maximum or complete page is Flash dependent b'coz Search Engines don't index Flash. Another major problem is that the links over flash can't be crawled over by search engines so they can't be indexed.

Solution: In such cases you need to get highly centerd TITLE & META tags. You also need to use as much KEY-EMBED technique as you can.
To solve the links problem the standard way is creating a sitemap and linking it to each webpage viaq a standard HTML Hyperlink Tag.

4. Sites that use Image Maps for navigation.
Problem: The problem arising from these are that link crawlers of Search Engines mostly get jumbled over the Image Maps & don't spider most of links.

Solution: You can overcome it adding an alternate Simple Navigational Menu or the standard technique to SiteMap.

5. Sites that use Javascript for navigation.
Problem: Search engines mostly don't follow the links provided in the javascript.

Solution: You can overcome it adding an alternate Simple Navigational Menu or the standard technique to SiteMap.
